Bandaranaike Internasjonale Lufthavn er Sri Lankas eneste Internasjonale Lufthavn, men dette vil endre seg. I den sørlige delen av øya et andre internasjonal flyplass bygges , Mattala Internasjonale Lufthavn, som hvis alt går etter planen, vil være operativt i 2012.
